Privacy Policy
FareGrabber is provided by Cab tech studios as a local offer-analysis utility for drivers. This policy explains how the Google Play version handles information.
Your visible offer content stays on your phone and is not uploaded to us.
Offer information
FareGrabber uses Android Accessibility access to detect visible Uber Driver offer screens, read text and take screen images for on-device OCR. Fare amounts, pickup/trip time and distance and visible route information are processed on this device, not uploaded to Cab tech studios, RevenueCat or another cloud service. Optional learning records require separate consent as described below.
Optional Local AI Insights
Collection is OFF by default and requires explicit consent. The private local database stores observed fares, pickup/trip distance and time, timestamps, currency/units, offer type, coarse UK pickup/destination postcode districts and the price rules/verdict. This may describe work patterns and approximate travel areas. No screenshots, full addresses, raw OCR or rider names are saved in learning history. No new GPS access, external AI API or cloud history upload is used. App backup is disabled; this is private app storage, not separately encrypted database storage. Collection and insight display have separate switches: disabling insights alone does not stop consented collection. Disabling collection retains existing data. At most 100,000 records and one year are retained, with expired records purged when learning storage is accessed; comparisons use 90 days. Delete/reset requires confirmation, leaves ordinary rules/counters unchanged and can stop collection or start a fresh learning period. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes the local database; we have no server copy.
Learning limits and possible errors
No history-based insight appears before 30 full verified days. Clock changes/reboots may extend verification; enough comparable history is still required afterwards. The first version compares observed price rates in similar UK pickup districts, time bands and offer types. It does not infer accepted/declined/completed trips, actual earnings or waiting time. Confidence describes supporting history, not a guaranteed financial outcome. AI can make mistakes. Check the offer before deciding. Insights never change your thresholds or override PASS/FAIL.
Settings stored on your device
FareGrabber stores thresholds, evaluation mode, postcode rules, border preferences, onboarding state and scanning state in the app's private local storage. This information remains on your device and is removed when app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Subscription processing
Google Play processes purchases and payment information. FareGrabber uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous App User ID and the purchase or subscription history needed to determine whether paid access is active and provide aggregate subscription analytics. FareGrabber does not send Uber offer content to RevenueCat and does not use your name, email address or a FareGrabber account as the RevenueCat identifier. Automatic device-identifier collection is disabled in the RevenueCat SDK. Google Play and RevenueCat may process technical, transaction, device or diagnostic information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Sharing, advertising and analytics
FareGrabber does not sell personal data. Offer content is not shared with third parties. Subscription information is processed by Google Play and RevenueCat only to provide purchase, entitlement and restore functionality. FareGrabber contains no advertising and does not use an advertising or behavioural-analytics SDK.
Retention and deletion
Local settings can be deleted by clearing FareGrabber's app data or uninstalling the app. Subscription records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their legal and operational requirements. Because FareGrabber uses anonymous subscription identifiers and has no user account, a support request may require the RevenueCat App User ID shown in the app. See the Data Deletion page for instructions.
Your choices
You can turn Scanning off at any time and disable FareGrabber's Accessibility service in Android settings. You can manage or cancel a subscription through Google Play. Cancellation normally leaves access active until the end of the paid billing period.
Children
FareGrabber is a professional driver utility and is not directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy when FareGrabber's functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated for material changes.
